Starter Path
Arcane Lineage Beginner Guide
Learn the early combat loop, survive the first hours, and reach level 15 with fewer bad wipes.
Learn the QTE defense loop first
Enemy attacks trigger QTEs. Hit Space in the yellow zone to dodge the attack completely, or in the red zone to cut the damage in half. Guard blocks 75% of incoming damage if you want a safer turn.
Start on Hard if you can handle the timing
Hard difficulty keeps 3 lives and gives faster progression with 2x drop rates, 2x Soul Essence, and 1.3x gold. If QTE timing feels rough, stay on Normal and stabilize first.
Meditate and buy early Health nodes
Use a red mat in the starter town to enter the Spirit Domain, then level up through Aretim and grab early Health Soul Tree upgrades. HP is the strongest early survivability investment.
Open with the Daze quest and easy guild jobs
Start the quest near the Enhancement Store entrance to get Daze, then take beginner-friendly guild board quests: Slime Cleaning, Slime Investigation, Wilderness Hunting, and Bandit Hunting.
Spend early stats on Luck and Endurance
Level carefully around encounter tier breakpoints and put early points into Luck and Endurance. Luck improves crit value, loot, and Soul Essence gain, while Endurance raises maximum HP.
Hit level 5 and unlock your base class
After reaching level 5, sell junk to the merchant, buy your weapon, and train into a base class. The class weapon and skill unlocks cost roughly 250 to 270 gold in total.
Use the Doctor and push toward level 15
The Doctor NPC in Caldera Town is the most reliable early heal source. Healing is free on Normal, costs 25 gold on Hard, and 50 gold on Legendary.
Unlock a Super Class and Beastmaster
At level 15, move into your Super Class path and pick up Beastmaster for stronger farming value. Then continue guild quests and NPC quests until you push toward the level 40 endgame grind.
Quick Tips
- Guard blocks 75% of incoming damage — use it when QTE timing feels risky
- Luck is one of the best early stats: improves crits, loot, and Soul Essence drops
- Healing at the Doctor is free on Normal — use it liberally in the early hours
- Focus on Easy guild board quests first; avoid Elite quests until level 10+
- HP nodes from the Soul Tree are your most impactful early survivability spend

Fast Progression
Arcane Lineage Leveling Guide
Arcane Lineage punishes inefficient starts, so a good route matters. The guide below focuses on survivability first, then class timing, then farming efficiency so your run stays smooth instead of collapsing at the first power spike.
Start on Hard if you can handle QTEs
For a fresh run, Hard difficulty is a strong progression choice because it speeds up your overall climb without changing the core route.
- Stay on Normal if you are still learning dodge and block timing
- Swap up once you are comfortable with combat rhythm
Buy the first Health soul upgrades immediately
Your earliest Soul Tree value comes from survivability. The first two Health nodes make the opening fights much less punishing.
- Meditate early
- Take Health 1 and Health 2 before greedier options
Clear the starter quest and easy board jobs in Caldera
The best opener is to grab the starter quest for Daze and then rotate into simple Guild Board jobs.
- Finish the starter quest to get Daze
- Prioritize Slime Cleaning
- Prioritize Slime Investigation
- Prioritize Wilderness and Bandit Hunting
Level carefully and split stats between Luck and Endurance
Early stat points are best split between Luck and Endurance. Luck helps drops and essence flow, while Endurance keeps your run stable.
- Split points between Luck and Endurance early
- Avoid rushing past encounter tier breakpoints
- Fight for consistency, not speed alone
Hit level 5 and lock in your base class
At level 5, buy your starter weapon and train into the base class you want to carry forward. The weapon costs 50 gold, and early class setup usually lands around 250 to 270 gold total.
- Buy one starter weapon
- Train into your chosen base class
- Do not waste gold on a class path you are not committing to
Push to level 15 for your super class
Level 15 is the first major breakpoint because your super class defines the rest of the run. Plan your Orderly, Neutral, or Chaotic route before you hit the breakpoint.
- Plan your alignment route before level 15
- Use quests and potion choices to support your alignment goal
- Choose the super class that matches your intended playstyle
Pick up Beastmaster once farming starts to matter
Beastmaster is a strong progression subclass because it improves farming utility and gives you better long-run value from kills.
- Talk to the Beastmaster trainer in Crossroads
- Bring Mushroom Cap, Sand Core, and Restless Fragment
- Budget 750 gold total for the subclass
Grind quests and shift into your main combat stat toward level 40
Once you are sturdy enough, stop overinvesting in pure safety and start leaning into your main damage stat. Keep cycling Guild Board and useful NPC quests until you cap out.
- Keep doing guild and NPC quests
- Move stat investment into your class main damage stat
- Use your super class and subclass combo to make farming cleaner

Arcane Lineage Classes Guide
Your base class locks in weapon type, early skills, and every later super class path. A good class guide should help players browse by playstyle, not only by tier, so each entry below focuses on role, strengths, trainer access, and path identity.
Race Database
Arcane Lineage Races Guide
Races in Arcane Lineage do more than change appearance. They shift base stats, passive economy, survivability, and what kinds of builds feel natural, so a compact comparison table is one of the most useful references on a homepage.

Arcane Lineage Enchants Guide
Arcane Lineage enchantments transfer across the weapon you currently equip, so unlocking the right one has a long-term impact on routing and build strength. The most valuable enchants either improve damage output, smooth out farming, or unlock powerful support utility for parties and covenant progression.
Progression
Arcane Lineage Quests Guide
Arcane Lineage quests matter because they unlock skills, alignment, race routes, and useful consumables. The guide focuses on quests players repeatedly search for when progression gets confusing.
Boss Encounters
Arcane Lineage Bosses Guide
A useful boss guide should tell players what will actually wipe the run. In Arcane Lineage that usually means reading the boss gimmick correctly, bringing the right damage type, and knowing which drops make the encounter worth farming again.
King Slime
The Crossing
Damage Profile
Takes bonus Fire and Dark damage. Resists Cold, Magic, and Physical.
Key Threats
- Scalding Spray hits the whole party and applies Poison and Burn.
- Poison Eruption is a stronger full-party punish.
- Can be spawned by 150 server-wide slime kills, 150 Slime Chunks at the statue, or 30-minute respawn timer.
Notable Drops
Prep Tip
Treat it as a real early boss, not an oversized slime. A small party and basic sustain make the fight much safer.
Yar'Thul
Mount Thul
Damage Profile
Takes bonus Hex damage. Resists Physical and heavily resists Fire.
Key Threats
- Starts the fight by applying Inferno to the whole party.
- Magma Pillar punishes physical attackers and adds Burn and Inferno.
- Armageddon can appear below 50% HP and hits the whole party hard.
Notable Drops
Prep Tip
Bring healing and Burn management, and do not rely on fire-heavy damage. Burst windows matter more than mindless trading.
Thorian the Rotten
Cess Grounds
Damage Profile
The real check is damage-type rotation, not raw DPS spam.
Key Threats
- Hitting Thorian twice in a row with the same damage type can heal him.
- Blasphemous Obliteration becomes available at half HP and can devastate the whole party.
- The fight constantly spreads Curse, Hexed, Weakness, and Plague-related pressure.
Notable Drops
Prep Tip
Coordinate elements and damage types with your team. Multi-hit attacks are fine only after the first same-type hit stops healing him.
Seraphon
Illustris
Damage Profile
Takes bonus Dark damage. Resists Holy and Physical.
Key Threats
- Holy Javalin and Justice stack Purified and Blind.
- Calling Light summons angel units with full class kits.
- High Retribution heals Seraphon based on the debuffs currently on her.
Notable Drops
Prep Tip
Dark damage performs well here. Careless debuff stacking can feed her healing, so clean and controlled turns are better than messy attrition.
Arkhaia
Temple of Norn
Damage Profile
Takes bonus Holy damage. Resists Physical and Dark.
Key Threats
- Banshee Wail chains one party member so damage dealt to Arkhaia is reflected to that player.
- Phlegethon and Cocytus are strong full-party AOEs with Ghostflame and Chilled pressure.
- At Cult of Thanasius rank 20, beating Arkhaia unlocks the Inferion race dialogue.
Notable Drops
Prep Tip
Watch for the linked target during Banshee Wail before committing burst. Holy damage and disciplined turn planning make this fight much cleaner.

Progression Guide
Arcane Lineage Alignment Guide
Alignment in Arcane Lineage is not just flavor — it is a progression gate. Orderly and Chaotic values decide which super classes you can unlock, while Neutral is the default state for balanced routes. The easiest approach is to pick your target early, push it with potions first, and finish with the right quests.
Decide Your Alignment Before Level 15
You start the game as Neutral. Neutral super classes offer balanced routes with medium health and medium damage. If you build any positive or negative alignment first, you block yourself from Neutral options until you move back.
- Neutral is the default starting state
- Any alignment blocks Neutral super classes
- Neutral super classes cost more than Orderly or Chaotic ones
Build Orderly Alignment for Pure Routes
Orderly routes need positive alignment. To unlock an Orderly super class, aim for +15 alignment. Heartsoothing Elixirs are the core setup item for this path.
- Recipe: 1 Cryastem + 3 Everthistle
- Each Heartsoothing Elixir gives +1 alignment
- Potions alone cap at +11 — finish with Orderly quests
- Example quest values: Package Delivery +3, Crylight Needed +5, Looking for Help +5
Build Chaotic Alignment for Darker Paths
Chaotic routes need negative alignment. To unlock a Chaotic super class, aim for -15 alignment. Heartbreaking Elixirs are the main setup item, then Chaotic quests finish the job.
- Recipe: 1 Carnastool + 3 Everthistle
- Each Heartbreaking Elixir gives -1 alignment
- Potions alone cap at -11 — finish with Chaotic quests
- Example quest values: Looking for Help -6, Someone is Going to Die -5, Ingredient Help -4
Match Alignment to Your Target Super Class
Alignment only matters when it matches the class route you are building toward. Pick the target first, then do the alignment work for that route.
- Paladin: 15 Orderly + Warrior base
- Saint: 15 Orderly + Slayer base
- Elementalist: 10 Orderly + Wizard base
- Berserker: 10 Chaotic + Warrior base
- Necromancer: 15 Chaotic + Wizard base
Return to Neutral When Changing Routes
You can move back toward Neutral by drinking the opposite alignment potion until the current value is canceled. Check your current alignment by pressing Tab on PC and clicking your name.
- At -5 alignment: drink 5 Heartsoothing Elixirs to return to Neutral
- Use the opposite potion type to cancel your current alignment
- Check alignment: press Tab on PC → click your name
